πͺ¨ Sigiriya Rock Fortress
An architectural marvel built in the 5th century by King Kashyapa, the rock fortress rises dramatically above the surrounding plains. The climb to the top takes you past ancient stairways, lionβs paws carved into the rock, and fascinating features like the Mirror Wall and the frescoes. π¨ Sigiriya Frescoes
Halfway up the rock, a spiral staircase leads to a sheltered pocket in the rock wall, where vivid frescoes of celestial maidens (known as βApsarasβ) are preserved. These paintings are believed to be over 1,500 years old and are a testament to ancient artistry and grace.

πͺ Mirror Wall
Originally polished so highly that the king could see his reflection in it, the Mirror Wall is now adorned with graffiti from visitors dating back to the 7thβ11th centuries. These poetic inscriptions provide insight into how Sigiriya mesmerized travelers centuries ago.
